Week 12, Post 1: Other Online Tools

This week I have created two accounts for my business, both with Linkedin and Meetup.

LinkedIn is a very useful account for networking, and a lot of people have individual accounts for their personal use, to help them connect with others, find jobs, stay in their industry's loop etc. You can also set up a page for your business, which is what I did with Bar K. LinkedIn is a helpful tool to stay connected, though at this stage in my business development (partly because it is fictional), I do not see much use for it. In either case, I still created a page which can be found here: http://linkedin.com/company/barksandiego

The second account I created was with Meetup.com. Meetup is very useful for people to find other like-minded people. This would be especially helpful for me to find potential local customers who might be interested at visiting my establishment and bringing their friends. It also opens up doors to my business being a host for meet ups, whether organized directly by us or a third party. Dog owners are always looking for new things to do with their dogs, so I feel like it would be a great idea to utilize the plethora of dog groups on Meetup. Some groups that I have joined/could potentially joined are as follows:

https://www.meetup.com/San-Diego-Dog-Rescue-Meetup/
https://www.meetup.com/HIKE-and-BREW/
https://www.meetup.com/SanDiegoCorgiMeetup/

https://www.meetup.com/20s-and-30s-Dog-Owners-of-San-Diego/

I have not quite figured out how to create a business page with Meetup, and am unsure if you truly can - it seems to be more geared towards individuals, and I may have to create a group instead. In either case, I have created an account which you can find here: https://www.meetup.com/members/296318354/
