Week 6, Post 1: Facebook Insights

The difference between post reach and post engagement is simple. Post reach is the number of people who see your post, or rather, how many people it has reached. This is a good way to see how wide your audience is. Post engagement measures how many people have interacted with your post through clicks, shares, and comments. This can help you determine how interesting your content is, and how well you are engaging your audience.
Knowing the difference between these two things is imperative to any business marketing. You cannot have one without the other - without reach, you would not be making your business known, and it would not be seen by very many people; without engagement, you would not be able to measure how interested your audience is in your business, and would not be able to increase loyalty or incite consumers to take action.
Facebook insights can help a great deal with analyzing both reach and engagement. It is important to monitor both of these things when marketing your business, and Facebook Insights keeps track of both, among other things. It helps you monitor the details of your Facebook page's performance, which is key when trying to market successfully. If your page is not reaching enough people, you can focus on pushing it out to a wider audience. If people are not engaging with your post enough, you know you need to make it ore engaging. I think it is a very helpful tool, because it measures how successful your social media campaign is going overall.
